Financing Process

NECESSARY DOCUMENTS

    FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION
    Everyone whose name will be on the loan needs to provide two forms of identification (DL, ID, Social Security Card, birth certificate, passport, etc.)

    BANK STATEMENTS
    Lenders need to know how much cash is available before they approve mortgage loans. These forms can help you prove that you have access to enough money to pay for a down payment and any closing costs.

    PAYCHECK STUBS
    Loan guidelines typically specify one month of verified income. You can prove this with paycheck stubs. Employees who are paid electronically may be able to access a corporate website to print out paycheck stubs.

    W2'S
    W-2 forms from the previous two years are required if you collect a paycheck. Guidelines typically require the most recent Form W-2 wage and tax statement, but some borrowers are asked for two years of W-2s.

    TAX RETURNS
    You will be asked to provide the most recent tax returns, including all the pages and schedules. The last two tax returns may be necessary depending on the lender.
  6. 6
    DD214 / VETERANS
    The Report of Separation contains information normally needed to verify military service for benefits, retirement, employment, and membership in veterans' organizations.
